Patricia Bentancur
(Lives and works in Montevideo, Uruguay)
She is an artist who studied at the School of Architecture in Montevideo, The Visual Art School, the School of Architecture in Madrid (ETSAM) and the New York University (N.Y). With the Fullbright Academic Research Programme Patricia Bentancur developed a significant research on critical studies in architecture dedicated to museography for the spatial and technological requirements of contemporary visual practices and Associate Artist at the Atlantic Center for the Arts/ACA-USA. She exhibits widely, among other venues, at Southern Latitude - Film Makers Cooperative, New York; and was selected to take part in the FIVA_Festival Internacional de video Arte_Argentina; film laboratory FAC_Contemporary Art Foundation (Montevideo) and the Festival Internacional de Cine eXperimental-DOBRA (Rio de Janeiro) Brazil; the Jordan National Gallery (Amman); the Cervantes Institute (Berlin); Matadero (Madrid); Rostrum (Malmö); the Museum of Modern Art (Bogota); Dello Scompiglio (Lucca); MUVIM/the Image Museum (Valencia); Tegen2 (Stockholm); the Arts Centre (Seville); the Contemporary Culture Centre, CCCB, the Museum of Contemporary Art, MACBA and Caixa Forum (Barcelona), and the Wilfredo Lam Centre (Cuba). She has been invited to the following biennials: Mercosur; New Media (Chile); Havana (Cuba); Ibero-American (Mexico); Belfort (France); JAFRE (Spain); Electronic Arts (France), and the New Media Biennial (Peru): IX International Biennial of Bolivia_SIART.

Es artista y curadora, formada en la Facultad de Arquitectura de Montevideo, la Escuela Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid y la New York University. Researcher del Fullbright Academic Program, especializada en Arquitectura y Arte Contemporáneo, desarrolló su investigación en el Guggenheim Museum, el Media Arts Center y el New Museum of Contemporary Art de Nueva York. Associate Artist del Master Artist Program del Atlantic Center for the Arts /ACA-USA. Es asesora y miembro de colectivos e instituciones, nacionales e internacionales. Expone extensamente, entre otros en Southern Latitude - Film Makers Cooperative Nueva York (USA); FIVA_Festival Internacional de video Arte(Argentina); Laboratorio de cine Fac_Fundación de Arte Contemporáneo (Montevideo) y el Festival Internacional de Cine eXperimental-DOBRA, Río de Janeiro; Skolska Gallery Praga; Jordan National Gallery; Instituto Cervantes Berlín; Matadero (Madrid); Rostrum (Malmö); Museo de Arte Moderno (Bogota); Dello Scompiglio (Lucca); MUVIM/Museo de la Imagen (Valencia); Tegen2 (Estocolmo); Centro de las Artes (Sevilla); Centro de Cultura Contemporánea CCCB, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo_MACBA y Caixa Forum (Barcelona) y el Centro Wilfredo Lam (Cuba).
